explain what is meant by the term magnetic field.
describe the magnetic field pattern around: permanent magnets, the Earth, currents, coils.
state the symbol and unit for magnetic field strength.
correctly use the right-hand grip rule to determine the magnetic field direction around a current.
describe some uses for an electromagnet (solenoid).
describe how the magnetic field of a current varies with the distance from the current and the size of the current.
solve problems using the equation: B =kI/d
