Poetry is about imagining, finding words that fit the images, the sounds, the sights of our reactions we take into our minds, making them larger than life trying to enhance the moment. They become memories/souvenirs of our time and experience in this life. The challenge is to find the best possible combination of words, phrases and poetic form to express ourselves. In this way we can express beauty, sadness, the ludicrous, the pathetic, the dangerous, the philosophical and record our memories using our words to create pictures of our feelings/perceptions in the hope that they may match the experience of our readers or give flight to their own imaginings.
