About the Author
Carol and Don (husband) have 3 groen up sons and 3 grandchildren. They live with a dog, four alpacas, and 12 Aracauna chickens on a lifestyle property that includes a hectare remnant of native forest frequented by many native birds.
Carol is a retired primary teacher. Since 1997, Carol has been teaching literacy to small groups or individuals, and (since 2001) volunteered as co-ordinator of an after school literacy programme. She has had three resource books for primary teachers published and a picture book for children, “It’s Time to Go!”
About the Illustrator
Bailey is a 15 year-old boy from Nelson/Tasman. He has grown up making the most of the region’s stunning environment: being active and exploring the outdoors. Bailet has an interest in New Zealand birds and their native surrounds. He loves being innovative and is enjoying the many ways he can be creative. Art has always been part of Bailey’s day-to-day life. This is Bailey’s third adventure into illusration. It has been a wonderful journey and he is delighted to have had the chance to work with Carol again.
