Fundraising for Ronald McDonald House
A New Zealand Adventure Story
Jake and his father are on a hunting trip in the south of New Zealand. On their first night in the wilderness they are attacked. Jake escapes into the night but when he returns at dawn, he finds their campsite destroyed and his father and his dog missing. Alone, without the means to call for help and a day’s walk from civilisation, he decides to follow a blood trail, deep into the bush, in the hope that it leads to his dad, injured but alive.
Unknowingly he has stumbled on a secret. A secret so precious people are prepared to kill to keep it hidden…

Librarian’s review: Love this. Set in New Zealand, this unbelievable story keeps you hanging. I can’t say too much without spoiling it. You are going to have to read it to reveal the secret! This book would make a great read aloud. Short chapters with a bit of suspense within each one. With its large font and double spacing it was a quick read for me. A good choice for reluctant readers. Recommended to all from 10yrs and over. It’s a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities. Great read – spent one afternoon reading it! Will be a great novel focus for some of our reading groups (boys and girls alike) – we now have 10 copies on order – well written and great plot and interesting characters. Thanks Heather.
