The Mystery of John

This book sets out a story which might help to sort out some of the twelve Johns mentioned in the New Testament of the Bible. Some of those names might be referring to the same person and others are definitely not. So there is an element of confusion. Who was John the Evangelist? Who was the Beloved Disciple? Who was John, the son of Zebedee? How does John Mark fit in? What about John the Baptist? Some of the Johns definitely stand on their own such as John, the father of Simon Peter, and John of the High Priest’s family. And what of the five pieces of scripture attributed to someone called John? Who actually wrote or maybe even inspired these texts? Why were they written and when?
