Raw Country

When writing this book, Franki Wood tried to imagine the feelings of people coming from crowded cities or cultivated farmlands to the raw country that was New Zealand in the times of early European settlement.
These people arrived to find heavily bush-clad hills and vast empty spaces, with simple transport and accommodation. They met, for the first time, the original occupants of the land, the Maori people.In Raw Country, a group of brave pioneers have hopes and dreams for a new life.
