This workbook introduces light and sound waves. It covers the basic principles of light and sound waves including interpreting wave diagrams, transverse and longitudinal and how these waves travel. It goes into the organs involved in hearing and sight and how they use these different waves as stimuli. The structures of the eye and ear are covered as well as the basic functions of their parts.
It focuses on aspects of levels 3, 4 and 5 of the New Zealand Science Curriculum.
It contains many varied investigations that begin to give students the knowledge and skills that they need to carry on to investigating at NCEA Level 1.
