Jack Brathwaite: soldier 1914-1918

My father’s war diaries have lain unknown to me until a few years ago, having been handed down sequentially from the care of my three elder brothers now all deceased. My father never spoke to me of them or of his war experiences. I am moved to publish them now, for although the heroism and the horrors of Gallipoli are well known from so many other recent publications, the Sinai and Palestine campaigns seem not so frequently described in published writings of individual soldiers.
