I’m Going Home for Christmas

The storyline came about through discussions reflecting on animals living in a zoo. The discussions centred around a school visit to Orana Park. We thought about the animals in the zoo. What did their home countries look like? What did the animals say about the idea of a trip home? What would they need for their journey? And, what mode of travel would they choose?
Every student contributed something, some in a minor way, and others in more major roles. All the illustrations and drawings are authentic representations of the student’s levels of ability, apart from the plane cut-outs. The students hope you enjoy this story of how some zoo animals went home for Christmas.
