Fair Means or Foul

“In a frank and candid account about his lengthy association with harness racing, Trevor Payne reveals the tricks of the trade for giving a horse added courage and, on other occasions, methods used for getting one beaten. Payne brushes aside the cobwebs and produces hard evidence that the term ‘The Red Hots’ may not have been far off the mark. I found the book a fascinating read because it confirmed answers to matters I had known about through my own involvement in harness racing.” Leo George, Racing Writer

An excellent book. Putting down on paper for the first time what we have all known for years but were too scared to say. Scared the britches off some members of the HRNZ Community who tried to dismiss Trevor as a loopy. Subsequent events have proven he was nothing of the sort. Imagine one of the banned boys coming clean in 2022? I’d love to see it.
