Enkidu

Who was Enkidu? His name is found in the earliest known writings of human literature, on clay tablets excavated in the Near East, known as the Epic of Gilgamesh. Enkidu is the natural man (who persists to this day as the Green Man). Beautiful, and swift as the gazelle, harmless and untroubled, all goes well until he clashes with the interests of human beings by destroying the traps they set for animals. They take counsel, and the oldest and wisest among them advises them to bring a woman, skilled in the art of seduction, who will lure him into becoming human.
