Drippings from a Teapot

I absolutely love this country, especially the South Island, and have always vowed to return to Nelson in my old age, having biked up here from Christchurch in 1937 with two cousins to pick apples. It was a long, slow, difficult trip on our fixed wheel bicycles, towing our gear in handmade trailers on rough, dirt roads and rough terrain. Our return trip after our holidays were over and wages long spent seemed a somewhat easier ride.

It has taken me a while to return to Nelson but in 1999 I finally made it to paradise and now have no desire to live anywhere else.
