I was shearing at Mt Cook station when I met Tim, it was 1965. Tim had been wool classing and had a gap in his run, so was offered a stand at Mt Cook where he more than held his own. We became firm friends and went on to work together in woolsheds and fencing for the next six years. Tim has achieved a lot in life, but he certainly put in the slog to get there.

These are the words I saw in gold letters lit up by my headlights one dark, stormy night. They were written on the church noticeboard of St John’s, Latimer Square. They were for me. Now I know that I have not always lived up to that standard, but when I have, I have been incredibly blessed.
