If commercial distribution is your target and you’d like some feedback, one of our staff can take a look at your manuscript and advise you on what needs to be done to get it to a marketable standard.
Editing and proofreading
We work with a number of excellent proofreaders and editors. They can help to get your writing to the standard required, whether that is for private or commercial use.
Design and Print
Good typesetting makes a big difference. Our designers are experts in this subtle and often under-appreciated art, and can make the difference between a good book and a great reading experience.
The cover can make or break the success of your book. Our designers can help you create a great first impression with great cover design, whether your book is for friends and family, or a much wider audience.
Print and production
We use a digital printing process, which allows us to print high-quality books on demand, with a range of finishing and binding options. Our designers also follow your book through the printing process, so it will be in safe hands, all the way.
Marketing and Distribution
We have customised marketing packages for those who want to make their books available for sale. Through our various channels we can assist you in marketing your book to a wide range of audiences.
Our Nelson shop is also a distribution centre. We take orders from bookshops, other retail stores, and individuals, process those orders, and dispatch directly. Books sold through our networks are printed at our expense, and we pay you in royalties.
Sales and Representation
The CopyPress is represented by three salespeople who show our titles to bookshops across the country. We keep them up-to-date with our latest titles through our newsletter, catalogue, and regular shop visits.
Print extras and promotional items
We don’t just print books. If you need business cards, flyers or posters for your launch, or order forms for your own sales, just let us know. Bookmarks also make a great, cost-effective marketing giveaway.
Our Tailored Service
Perhaps the most important thing we can discuss with authors is what they want to achieve with their book.
Some authors just want to put together something for their friends and family, some intend their book to be read by a specific readership or community, and some want to be the next Lynley Dodd or Eleanor Catton, planning to distribute their book as far and wide as possible. Which of these categories your book fits into will determine which services we can help you with.
We tailor our service to your needs. If we know what your goal is to begin with, it helps us assess your book according to the standard for your market.
Below are some sample options you can choose for your book.
